6 Fall-Flavored and Tasty Boozy Ice Cream Recipes
Ice Cream Mix
Before you can create your own boozy concoctions, let’s get back to the basics with our classic Ice Cream Mix. With a high percentage of butterfat, this mix allows the ice cream to hold an alcohol content while still tasting creamy and delicious
What you’ll need:
- 1 ½ cups whole milk
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 8 egg yolks
What you’ll do:
- In a medium-sized heavy-duty saucepan, add milk, heavy cream, and vanilla. Over medium-high head, scald the mixture and remove from heat once you see bubbles start to form.
- In a large bowl, add sugar and egg yolks and whisk until they turn a lighter yellow color, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Slowly pour half of the scalded milk and cream mixture into the egg yolks, whisking as you pour.
- Add the milk and egg mixture back into the saucepan. Warm over low-to-medium heat, stirring constantly with a heat-resistant spoon or spatula. The custard is thick enough when it can easily coat a spatula or spoon.
- Transfer custard to a heat-proof container, cover, and let cool for 1 hour before adding in alcohol and additional ingredients.
Serving Suggestion:
If chocolate is your thing, you can modify this recipe with ½ cup cocoa powder and ½ cup chocolate chips. You can add the cocoa powder in with the ingredients in the first step of this recipe. After the first step, you can stir in the chocolate chips until completely melted as the mixture is removed from the heat. Continue with the recipe as normal after you complete these steps.

Night Owl
Create your own Night Owl to keep you caffeinated and boozy.
As we get older, we understand how hard it can be to stay up late and party all night. However, this recipe will be guaranteed to make sure you make it to the last call.
What you'll need:
- Spiked hazelnut coffee ice cream (from above recipe)
- Wandering Bear Cold Brew
- Duclaw Sweet Baby Jesus! Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter
- 2 oz of Patron XO Cafe (optional)
What you’ll do:
- Pour 5 ounces of porter and 5 ounces of cold brew into a mason jar.
- Slowly add one scoop of ice cream.
- Insert colorful paper straw and a long bar spoon.
- Add another scoop of ice cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
- Optional: Make it boozier by mixing a shot of Patron XO Cafe before adding the ice cream.
Serving Suggestion:
Honestly, this one is perfect just the way it is. If you need an extra jolt, experiment with a few shots of espresso added to the mix.
Maple Bacon Bourbon
These flavors scream boozy brunch, and we are obsessed with it.
What you'll need:
- 6 cups of ice cream mix
- 1 cup of Four Roses Bourbon
- ¼ cup of maple syrup
- ½ cup of bacon, cooked and chopped
What you'll do:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ice cream mix, bourbon, and maple syrup and stir.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
- While the mix chills, cook the bacon. You'll need 8-10 slices of raw bacon to make ½ cup of crumbles. Cook the bacon until it is crispy, and set aside a paper towel to drain and cool for around 30 minutes. Chop into quarter-inch pieces and then refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to add the ice cream.
- Freeze the mixture in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions — until it has a gelato-like consistency.
- Transfer the ice cream to a large mixing bowl and stir in the bacon crumbles.
- Transfer the ice cream into freezer-safe containers and freeze for at least 8 hours before serving.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve on top of a warm cinnamon roll and top with more bacon crumbles and a drizzle of maple syrup. The salty, sweet, and boozy combination makes this one an easy 10 out of 10.
