Pride in NYC: Pride-Inspired Boozy Ice Cream & What To Do In NYC This Month

Celebrate with Pride-inspired ice cream at the top NYC Pride events this month

Tipsy Scoop's Boozy Rainbow Ice Cream CakeAround the world, June marks the month of Pride in our communities. Pride first started as a way to stand up against police harassment of the LGBTQIA+ community, and since then, it has grown into the celebration we know and love today. While Pride is now known as a celebration, it still serves the purpose of rallying for change. To support our LGBTIA+ community this June, Tipsy Scoop is donating all proceeds from our Rainbow Boozy Ice Cream Cake to The Trevor Project. This nonprofit focuses on youth suicide prevention and crisis intervention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning youth in our community. NYC Pride Events

Celebrate Pride at These NYC Events

Pride FlagIn NYC, we are gearing up for an exciting month of events to celebrate Pride this month. Heritage of Pride, a nonprofit organization, has planned New York City’s official LGBTQIA+ Pride events to provide opportunities to gather in activism, protest, celebration, and advocacy for our community. We’ve highlighted some of our favorite Pride events this month below.

The March in NYC

The first Pride March was held in 1970, and since then, it has become an annual civil rights demonstration. From the fight against AIDS to remembering those lost from illness and violence, the March has shifted its purpose to recognize the issues our LGBTQIA+ community faces. This year, the NYC Pride March takes place on June 26th at noon. Starting from 25th Street and 5th Avenue, marchers will walk down the route and disperse in Chelsea at 16th Street and 7th Avenue.

The Brunch

Celebrating Black LGBTQIA+ leaders and honoring Juneteenth, The Brunch is a culinary experience of Juneteenth food stories from Black LGBTQIA+ chefs. The event takes place at 74Wythe, and tickets start at $30. Featured chefs include Sicily Sierra, Roshara Sanders, Trent, and Chef Whitney. This immersive experience allows guests to connect with community members and celebrate the amazing work of our Black LGBTQIA+ leaders in our community. It will also include an awards ceremony, performances, and an open bar.

The Rally

For the first time in two years, the NYC Pride Rally is back in person! At a time when activism and education are needed most, this is a chance for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to come together to demand change. The first Rally happened in June 1969—one month after the Stonewall Riots when over 500 people gathered for a “Gay Power” demonstration in Washington Square Park. This year, the Rally is happening on June 24th from 4-7 PM at The Battery at State Street and Battery Place.

Hester Street Fair

Known as the Best Street Fair of New York City, the Hester Street Fair is the perfect opportunity to shop and engage with LGBTQIA+ owned and operated businesses. This street fair takes place on June 25th at The Seaport’s Pier 17. With music and entertainment, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

No matter if you are celebrating Pride in NYC or anywhere around the world, there are plenty of opportunities for you to gather and let your voice be heard. Grab some boozy ice cream and celebrate your pride this month! As always, make sure to tag @tipsyscoop in your ice cream pictures this Pride month.
